Being Assertive...

Well, it turns out that being assertive can be very effective. Maybe I will have to try it more often... The practice manager called me back and was completely appalled at what had happened. She spent quite a bit of time on the phone with me, figuring out which nurse it was and going through his chart to find out if there was a reason why this happened. She also said it is protocol to check the sat of EVERY child under a certain age regardless of their diagnosis and if they are in with respiratory problems, to check the sat no matter how old they are. She apologized greatly and was going to speak with her head nurse to deal with the situation as soon as she got off of the phone. She also talked with Dr. M about it to find out if he wanted us to come back considering what had happened. So - we got to make yet another trip, but they promised not to even bill our insurance and promised to see us whatever time we wanted to get there. They literaly took us back as soon as we walked in the door. And I am sure they were as happy as I was to see that his O2 sat was 98%... It also made this mommy feel good to know that she may have saved some other child from having the same issue and it ending up much worse.

Today he is sounding so much better!!! Mommy and Daddy both went to work and he stayed with Grandma - she wasn't excited at all to be able to skip work and spend the day with him... :)
